Membership in STC has many advantages. It provides valuable opportunities to interact
with local members through the chapter activities, and also offers access to the following:
Annual National and Regional Conferences—There are workshops,
vendor exhibits, and displays of winning competition entries at STC
conferences.
Employment Resource—The Society site maintains a jobs
database. The local chapter also posts job
openings in the Kansas City region.
Publications—Members receive copies of two award-winning publications,
Intercom and Technical Communication.
Discounts—Many discounts are available for STC members, including discounts to conferences and STC publications.
Group Rate Insurance—Members are eligible to apply for hospital
benefits and term life insurance
at competitive association rates through Mutual of Omaha.
Research Grants and Scholarships—STC helps foster the growth of the
profession by awarding scholarships to students enrolled in technical communication programs at universities, colleges, junior colleges, and technical schools. Research grants are available for members interested in developing and communicating new ideas in the technical communications profession.

bring together members who share specialized interests.
